1963 Australian Soul-Jazz grail! Two raw and heavy cover versions – Comin’ Home Baby and Moanin’. Featuring Brian Brown on Saxophone and other Melbourne jazzmen. Both tracks were included on the 2015 UK compilation Australian Jazz Anthology from Jazzman (CD edition). The disc has some fine surface scuffs but nothing serious. Some light crackle during the run-in typical of 45s (more so on Side B) but plays loud and clean when the music kicks in. The sleeve has light edgewear at the opening and a light corner crease otherwise OK. Side B label has small patches of paper wear. Not an audiophile recording but that’s the charm. Important Australian jazz artefact. Super rare and in-demand!
